A community gathering to speak and pray for solutions for homelessness

WHAT

The Salvation Army is hosting a community gathering to address the shelter and housing crisis affecting nearly 700 individuals experiencing homelessness in Greater Richmond. The Prayer Breakfast offers a space and place for local church leaders and community members to be a meaningful witness to one another and lift up shared values and faith.

WHY

Shelter is a basic human need and without permanent housing, it is nearly ipmossible to find employment or improve one’s physical and/or mental health. The Salvation Army Central Virginia serves on the front lines in the fight against poverty, homelessness, food insecurity, addiction and other issues impacting vulnerable individuals and families living in the 16 localities across the Greater Richmond Area.

Tuesday, August 20, 2024
Program: 8:30 – 10:00 a.m.
*Majors Kim will be available for interviews, photos and tours after the program.
