RICHMOND, Va. (April 7, 2025) – The Salvation Army Central Virginia is proud to announce Dr. Gabe Willis, Associate Vice President and Dean of Student Advocacy at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), as the keynote speaker for the 2025 Leaders Doing The Most Good Awards Luncheon. The luncheon will take place on Thursday, May 1, at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia.

Dr. Gabe Willis, Associate VP &
Dean of Student Advocacy, VCU

Dr. Willis brings nearly 15 years of higher education leadership and a strong passion for advocacy, inclusion and student empowerment. At VCU, he leads the university's Office of Student Advocacy, ensuring that students are not only heard but also supported in meaningful and tangible ways. His approach centers on visibility, responsiveness and creating environments where individuals can thrive.

"Every voice matters—whether it's a student seeking support or a neighbor in need," Dr. Willis said. "I'm honored to join The Salvation Army Central Virginia in celebrating those who advocate for others and make a lasting impact in our community."

Just as Dr. Willis uplifts the voices of students, The Salvation Army Central Virginia continues its mission to advocate for the most vulnerable members of our community through emergency shelter, food assistance, disaster relief, workforce development and youth mentorship programs.
